Board Certification
Dr. LeVan is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc., one of 24 specialty boards that make up the American Board of Medical Specialties, and also a subsidiary of the American Board of Surgery since 1938. There is a significant difference between a “cosmetic surgeon” and one who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. The latter involves many years of training beyond medical school specifically in the field of plastic surgery. Dr. LeVan has completed this rigorous training and has over 25 years of experience as a plastic surgeon. She participates and is current with the American Board of Plastic Surgery’s Continuous Certification Program.
Dr. LeVan has been in private practice in Lexington, Kentucky since 1997. For 23 years, her practice comprised of cosmetic and reconstructive plastic surgery procedures including facelifts, eyelid lifts, brow lifts, cosmetic breast surgery, abdominoplasties and other body contouring procedures, and reconstructive surgeries including breast reconstruction after mastectomy for breast cancer and reconstruction of facial defects after skin cancer resection. Although Dr. LeVan has retired from the operating room and no longer performs major surgical procedures, she continues to provide non-surgical facial rejuvenation treatments such as Botox, Injectable fillers and Sculptra, and minor office procedures including earlobe repair and cosmetic facial mole removal. Throughout her surgical career, Dr. LeVan has always delighted in the one-to-one personal interactions she has had with her patients. She continues to enjoy the individual, personalized visits with patients that our private office allows and enjoys helping them achieve their aesthetic goals.
Dr. LeVan is also passionate about skin care and our trained office staff are equally enthusiastic. Our registered nurse, Pam, performs all of our Microneedling procedures. Both Pam and Priscilla, our skin care coordinator, perform the various chemical peels that we offer.
