Jawline
Jowls are the result of skin (and sometimes fat) sagging below the jawline over time. They are related to aging and eventually, everyone will have some degree of jowling. It is not uncommon to see jowls beginning after age 40. The degree of jowling is often related to jaw structure or shape, skin elasticity, fat content and age. Nonsurgical treatment using injectable fillers or Sculptra® can help to reduce or conceal the appearance of jowls, by treating the areas of depression in front of and sometimes behind the jowl.
Sunken areas along the jawline are usually due to weight loss or aging. These areas can be “filled in” or “sculpted” with either injectable fillers or Sculptra®. This is considered “off-label” use.
